A note from the universe

You’ve come a long way, Carrie, from the timid, shy soul you once were. Hiding out on distant planets, befriending alien tree forms, splashing in snow fed streams, and secretly planning your time on earth being totally amazing and all.
So what do you say we drop all the practical logic, rational reasonableness, and cautious optimism, and give those tree forms something to talk about – before they start making stuff up.

You know trees.

The second all Americans were safely out of the country, Obama¬†came out with much more forceful language against Libya. Now think about the discipline of this. It represents the polar opposite of a politician’s desire to mouth off in public before fulfilling his more immediate duties to his own employees and citizens. Of course, preening blowhards are already posturing and gasping at the prudence and restraint of this president, with¬†this kind of rhetoric

I’m on a quest. Someone posted a song on blip earlier with this Dickens quote about a heart that never hardens, etc. And it sparked a memory of a song from my high school/college years. But here’s the twist. All I remember is “a heart that never hardens.” And that the singer is female. I will find this song. Grrrr.

I’m trying to get over get past my ADHD-ness. Some days it’s easier than others. I don’t know if other people experience this sensation of being so incredibly unfocused and just completely unable to focus. I call it brain fog. It’s like walking out into a foggy night, so foggy that you can’t even see the ground you’re walking on. Imagine trying to function with that in your head.

…wow, I got completely distracted.

The kiddo got a cabbage at school today. Apparently it’s a mega cabbage and can grow to be up to forty pounds. He wants me to help him grow it. Me, the one who could kill the hardiest plant in the universe. We’ll see how this goes.
